Want to enjoy optimal health? Go outside

-

TOTAL WELLBEING IS A WALK – or run – in the park. Research published in the journal Scientific Reports found that spending just two hours in nature a week is important for optimal health. Those who hit the two-hour mark were more likely to report good health and life satisfaction, whether they were exercising or just enjoying a break from city life. We’ve long known about the benefits of being outdoors: one earlier study1 found time spent in green spaces reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure. But these latest findings show that even a little time in the great outdoors can improve your health.
