How do I get over restday guilt? I always feel bad if I don’t run.

-

Many runners experience this. Tell yourself a rest will allow you to recover and make you a better runner. It gives your body the chance to adapt to the training you’ve done, which improves fitness. You will also be more ready to run well in upcoming sessions. Resting also reduces the chance of injury and overtraining syndrome.

Try to plan something nice for your rest day, so you’ll look forward to the time off and be distracted from thinking about running. If you’re itching to keep moving, try nonimpact exercise such as swimming. But it’s a good idea to take a total rest day from an exercise regime now and again to refresh your body and mind.
