BY THE NUMBERS ROSIE WATSON
WHILE EXTINCTION REBELLION
favours roadblocks and sit-down protests, Rosie Watson has opted for a more energetic way to draw attention to climate change: trying to run to Mongolia. ‘I’d always wanted to do some kind of very long, solo, self-supported running adventure,’ says the 25-year-old, who is currently in Serbia awaiting updates on coronavirus travel restrictions. She is documenting her progress on her website, newstoryrun. wordpress.com. ‘The message is to show that, together, with all of these efforts and ideas as a kind of patchwork, they add up to a convincing alternative to how we could live and organise our work in a way that is healthier, happier, more satisfying and more equal.’
