TATI SAAVEDRA
Ran 100 miles in 20 days for the NHS
Tati Saavedra describes herself as ‘a regular 16-year-old’, but over 20 days in April, she achieved something remarkable: she ran 100 miles to raise money for the NHS. Her final run, a half marathon, was the furthest she’d ever run in one go. ‘We are allowed to exercise once a day, so I thought I would make mine meaningful by making my runs contribute to the NHS,’ she says. ‘Before this challenge, the furthest I’d run was eight miles. I knew if I was going to run this many miles, I needed a motivation that would compel me to keep running. For me, it is the people in the NHS, who are doing an incredible job.’
