I wanted to share my recent experience of giving birth during the Covid-19 lockdown. During my pregnancy, I had complications and was told to stop running. This affected me mentally, as running is a huge part of my life. Before going into hospital to have the baby, I got my copy of the Mental Health issue of RW [May]. I finished it while in hospital, recovering from a traumatic birth and multiple blood transfusions. (I inspired one of my midwives to take up running as I chatted to her between contractions!) Your magazine, with its inspiring articles, helped me through a very lonely, tough time. I am now looking forward to my return to running. (The picture shows happy baby Adam indicating his approval with a Superman pose!)

Congratulations, Julia. We're so glad Runner’s World has helped you – even in a small way – during such a challenging time. Lovely to get Adam’s seal of approval, too! We assume he will become an avid runner one day…
