Race director James McIlroy guides you on an out-and-back along Northern Ireland’s stunning coastline

‘Larne [a town on the east coast of County Antrim] has had a race since 1993, but we revamped it for 2020,’ says McIlroy. ‘We totally changed the course and date, and invited an elite field to take part. Because of the pandemic, there was no mass-participation race last year but the elites ran their race, with Mo Farah (1:00:27) and Lily Partridge (1:10:36) being our two winners. It’s a really flat and fast course – and beautiful, with the cliffs and the bays that the route winds past.’
