ON THE BEND

Two simple yoga moves to help ease a sore back

CHILD’S POSE

Spread your knees as wide as you can on a yoga mat, keeping the tops of your feet on the floor, big toes touching if you can. Bring your belly to rest between your thighs and place your forehead on the floor, arms stretched out in front of you.

UPWARD-FACING DOG

Lie on your stomach, with your hands flat on the floor, placed next to your ribs. Your feet should be rested on the yoga mat – don’t tuck your toes. Push up with your hands, straighten­ing your arms, and lifting your torso and thighs from the floor.
