Runner's World (UK)

HELLO, NEW RUNNERS!

-

I want to say how the resurgence in runners winds me up, how the parks are full of wannabe runners – they have the latest gear, chunky watches, puffing up the moderate inclines. How they have invaded my space! Where once I had it all to myself, they suck my air and hog the path…but the truth is, I’m inspired; I smile and say ‘Morning!’ We’re part of the same club: Runners United. It’s a wonderful club to be in, rain or shine, hot or cold, thumbs up! How lucky we are to have discovered this club. I hope more join us. Hog the path, no problem; I don’t mind the dew soaked into my trainers as I jump on the grass. I’m happy to be out here with you.

I work on the frontline of the NHS, it has been tough, but running is a saviour; I prescribe it all day long – there’s no better medicine!

Running has helped many runners through these challenging times, but we’d be nowhere without the dedication shown and sacrifices made by you and your colleagues. Thank you!
