Lang will keep training hard

-

Cambuslang Rangers comanager Paddy Flannery says the side will be working hard over the next couple of weeks, ahead of their crunch league clash with Rossvale.

The Lang have no fixture scheduled for this weekend, but the league have handed them a home fixture with fellow title contenders Rossvale for Saturday, December 27.

And the side won’t be taking it easy over the Christmas period, knowing that victory over the side currently one place behind them in the table could go along way towards the Lang winning the league title.

Paddy said: “We’ll be training as normal this week, and coming in for a session on Saturday.

“We’ve got the Rossvale game on December 27 and we want to be as fully prepared for that one as we can be.

“We’ve already expressed to the boys just how important December is for us, in terms of staying fit, and I can assure you, no one will be out there training harder than us over the next couple of weeks.

“After that, we’ve got Royal Albert and Forth, so we know what a difficult couple of games we’ve got coming up after that.”

This season, the Lang have played 12 games, and sit a point ahead of Rossvale, who have played nine games, so the players know how important it will be to get another win.

Paddy added: “It’s been quite a mild winter so far, with the odd cold or wet day here and there, and there’s been a few days when the frost has been threatening, but on the whole, we’ve been pretty lucky with our games this season and the fact we’ve played so many.

“We’ve got eight games to go, and the good thing is our park has had a couple of weeks to recover since our last game.

“By being away to Port Glasgow, and having no game this Saturday, it’s good for the pitch, which is one of the best in the division.

“We’ll not be using it much in the coming days, and will be keeping off it as much as we can, so we can keep it in the best possible condition.”
