Support pours in for Pauline
Support has poured in online for Cambuslang nurse Pauline Cafferkey.
Several Facebook groups have been created to show support for Pauline , of Lightburn Road, and praise was posted to our Facebook page when we ran the story last week.
One page called PaulineCafferKey Prayers has already received almost 500 likes.
The creator of the page describes it as a “page for the support for the British nurse Pauline Cafferkey. She answered the call to help and risked her own life. Please Pray for her”.
People from all over the world have commented on the page.
Matt Cowdell from Perth, Australia, posted: “Pauline everyday we check the news... Hang in there chick.... Your not done yet....”
Ali Mousa from the United Arab Emirates, posted: “Get well soon Pauline ... Don’t give up and keep fighting”.
Ruth Trier, from London but living in Florida, posted: “Here’s hoping you recover soon. We are all proud of what you have done to help those suffering from that awful virus.”.
A group called Pray for Pauline Cafferkey has also been created and Keira Togneri wrote: “Such a wonderful person who has risked her own life to help strangers in the most heartbreaking and awful circumstances, I hope you get better soon - you deserve the same chance you worked so hard to give to those suffering in Africa - get well soon xx”.
We posted the news on our website last week and people quickly commented on our Facebook page giving their support to the Halfway resident.
Alison Thomson, a doctor from Cambuslang, wrote: “Hoping she is OK and makes a full recovery - all these NHS volunteers are real heros for going out there to help.”
Liz Munro posted: “Allison Poor woman hope she makes a full recovery, x”.
