Barry set to add more
Clyde signings continue
Clyde boss Barry Ferguson was disappointed with the referee’s decision to give Queen’s Park a last gasp penalty on Saturday that denied his team all three points.
The Bully Wee seemed set to start their year in the best possible fashion - with a good away win to Queen’s Park thanks to a goal from Iain Gray.
However referee Kevin Graham awarded Queen’s a penalty with less than a minute to go.
Graham deemed that Traynor had pulled back advancing QP keeper Muir, who had gone up for the corner, to try and draw his side level.
Speaking to the Reformer, the exRangers captain said: “I was disappointed after the game. I just thought, there’s always a bit of grappling going on at corners .
“If you’re going to give penalties for those types of decisions, there could be 10 to 15 penalties in every game. That’s what I was a bit disappointed in.
“It happens in football. We’ll dust ourselves down and get on with it. A point is not a bad result but obviously we’re disappointed, it’s only 30 seconds to go and the penalty’s conceded.”
New signings Hugh Murray, Steven McDougall and Ross Fisher all made their debut in Saturday’s game, and Barry said there will be two more additions before this coming Saturday’s game against Berwick Rangers as he commences with his revamp of the squad.
He continued: “There’s another two definites coming in. Hopefully they’ll be in the squad for Saturday, joining the three new ones who played on Saturday.”
Berwick will come to Broadwood this Saturday ( January 10). In the table they are currently four points ahead of Clyde. Ahead of the game, the former Scotland captain said: “That’s what we’re going to try and do. We’ll have a go at teams and attack.
“We’ll go and try and get the win. Berwick are a decent team. They’ve had the same sort of season as us. They’ve been up and down. Every game is tough in this league so we’ll expect the game on Saturday. “
