Club’s many happy returns with Judy
Kirkhill Tennis Club celebrated their centenary on Monday afternoon with a very special birthday guest – tennis coach Judy Murray. The accomplished coach and mother of 2013 Wimbledon winner and world number five Andy was in Cambuslang to help the club celebrate its centenary. She gave a coaching session to the club’s young players, who all enjoyed the experience.

The mum of 2013 Wimbledon champ Andy Murray was a surprise visitor to the club, which is marking its 100th birthday this year, delighting the children present.
Kirkhill president Jackie Clark had arranged the hush-hush visit, as part of the club’s 100th birthday celebrations, which was kept quiet to ensure the youngsters had a welcome surprise.
And the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant was given a rapturous reception when she arrived, spending around an hourand-a-half at the club on Whitefield Avenue.
Jackie said: “The kids were there at 4pm, so they were really excited when Judy arrived - they all went hyper!
“Judy came in and had a wee chat with them, and did a of of her new programme with them, Miss-Hits, which is part of her campaign to get more girls playing tennis.
