from famous personalities, picture puzzles, spelling, and logos to general knowledge.

There was even a special round at the end of the quiz for the audience, mostly parents and teachers, to test their knowledge.

Prior to the final results, each participant in the quiz was presented with a certificate, an Easter egg and a soft drink as just rewards for all their efforts.

The quiz result was very close with last year’s winners, Calderwood Primary School, finishing in second place.

However this year they were overtaken by the team from King’s Park Primary who took first place.

The winning team were made up of Jamie Bamford, Stuart Whyte, Abdulkareem Jaleel and Dante Allessandri , and they received their gold medals from Rutherglen Rotary President, Bill Liggat, who also presented a winners’ cheque of £100 to Depute Head Teacher Joyce Noble.

The runners up team of Eve Hamilton, Evie Brightey Jamie Banks and Odhran Gallagher were presented with their silver medals and a cheque for £50 to their Head Teacher Lisa Grant.

The evening concluded with a vote of thanks to all the schools from President Bill for their participation and enthusiasm as well as to the supporters and parents of the seven teams for making it a fun night for all concerned.

He also thanked Past President Duncan McIntosh for organising the event and acting as the judge.

Bill also spoke briefly on the many good aspects of Rotary Club, not least the enjoyable fund raising activities from which many local charities have benefited.

He finished by inviting the adults in the audience to find out more about the Club with a view to joining by speaking to any of members present, taking a newly prepared leaflet or searching ‘Rotary International’ on the web.
