King’s Park Church’s monthly Lunch Club takes place in the church hall between noon and 2pm tomorrow (Thursday).

This continues to be a very successful venture with a good number of people taking the chance to enjoy a nutritious three course meal for the very reasonable price of £3.

New faces are always welcome to join in this community event.

The Erskine Bridge Fun Day and Sponsored Walk takes place on Saturday, April 25. There will also be a 50 foot inflatable assault course to add to the fun.

Everyone is invited to take part in this great day out for all the family.

Those attending should meet in the park in Old Kilpatrick, just over the bridge.

The twice yearly textile collection takes place from April 26-30. All donations of bedding (but not duvets, pillows or cushions), clothing, curtains, shoes, bags and belts can be handed in at the church between 9am and noon or 6.30-9pm or will be collected on request.

The Rutherglen Christian Aid Committee has organised a concert for tomorrow, Thursday, April 23 at 7.30pm in The United Reformed Church in Johnstone Drive.

This will feature popular local band, Piggery Brae, and admission is £5, which will include tea/coffee and biscuits.

Burnside Blairbeth Church is holding a weekly Tuesday coffee morning with home baking served in the gathering area, 10am-noon.

Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe is continuing to run.

The organisers invite the local community to go along and enjoy a drink and a tasty snack in warm, comfortabl­e surroundin­gs each week.

It is held in the church hall at the Kirkhill building on Cairns Road. The cafe is open on Wednesdays from 10am until noon.

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s weekly friendship cafe is offering a warm welcome.

The cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am until noon in West and Wardlawhil­l Parish Church in Western Avenue, with children welcome.

Stonelaw Parish Church is inviting the local community into the building.

The Meeting Place door is open to every weekday.

Visitors can drop in, drink coffee, browse their range of Fairtrade products, and even select a second-hand book.

The idea of the Meeting Place is to provide an informal, comfortabl­e location, open to the whole community, for people to drop by without any obligation.

It is open every Monday to Friday, 10.30am-12.30pm, and also Thursday afternoons 2-4pm, and Wednesday evenings 7.30-9.30pm.

Flemington Hallside Church is continuing to welcome the public to its community cafe each week.

The cafe runs two days a week and is open from noon to 2pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Flemington Hallside Church is located on Hamilton Road.

The Salvation Army in Rutherglen has a number of clubs for kids running each week.

On Tuesdays, there’s Kids Alive! JAM (Jesus and Me). There’s songs, crafts, games and a Bible story, from 5-6.30pm every Tuesday, for ages five-11 years.

Each Wednesday, there’s the Kids Club, for children aged five-11, which also runs from 5-6.30pm.

There’s fun, games, tuck shop and Sunshine Corner toddlers group, which meets every Tuesday morning, from 9.45-11.30am.

It is open to all pre-school age youngsters.

Croftfoot Parish is now holding two Sunday evening services each month, on the second and fourth Sundays.

A healing service will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm.

The church will continue to have the healing hour from 7.30-8.30pm on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
