Clyde boss Barry Ferguson says he can’t wait to finish up the season and start working with the new players he has signed up.

The Bully Wee gaffer was speaking after his side’s 3-2 defeat to Albion Rovers at Broadwood on Saturday. Clyde went 2-0 up, however Rovers came back to secure the win and the League Two title in the process.

The former Rangers captain pointed to Cadden’s goal for his opponents just before half time as the turning point in the match.

He said: “We battered them tin he first half, we were miles the better team. We make a silly individual mistakes which has been happening all season and which sums us up. That will change next year as there will be a massive turn around.

“There’s already a lot of players we’ve got on pre contract so let’s get this season out of the way and you’ll see a different Clyde next season.”

The former Scotland captain said that he can’t wait to get started working with his new signings this summer.

He added: “When I took over you have to give guys a chance, I never thought they were good enough. The biggest thing for me is everybody’s budget flew up and ours didn’t. I just found that out in January. We’re not far away.

“We’ve made about eight new signings already and I can’t wait to get started with them in June.

“I’ve had them signing up since the start of March.”

Next up Clyde will face Montrose at Links Park this Saturday (April 22) in their second last game of the season.

Then their final game of the season will come against Queen’s Park at Broadwood the following week.

The club also announced that pysiotherapist, Iain McKinlay has decided to step down form his role after 13 years with The Bully Wee.

Iain initially arrived at Broadwood as assistant physiotherapist in early 2002, following the departure of his longserving predecessor John Watson, to take up a post with the Scotland International squad.
