Tennis club members made quite a racquet
Kirkhill Lawn Tennis Club’s centenary year is proving to be one to remember with celebrations culminating in a successful party night.
The sell- out party event was held at Kirkhill Golf Club. Music came courtesy of The House Band and there was a luxury raffle with prizes including a spa day at Crutherland House Hotel, dinner at Burger Meats Bun and Viva Ristorante, jewellery from Rox and a personal shopping experience at Debenham’s, amongst many other must-have prizes.
As well as an enjoyable night for all who came along to the party night, the club raised over £1000 which they plan to invest in equipment for all its members to enjoy.
Club president Jacqueline Clark is thrilled the club’s centenary is being celebrated in style.
She said: “It’s such a big year for our little club and it’s wonderful so many people want to be part of the celebrations.
“The party night was tremendous fun. The House Band were incredible and everyone who came along well and truly got into the party spirit. Thanks to everyone who put on their glad rags and dancing shoes all in the name of Kirkhill Lawn Tennis Club!”
The next event in Kirkhill’s busy centenary social calendar is the birthday celebration and open day on Saturday, May 30, at the club’s Whitefield Avenue Cambuslang location.
Jacqueline added: “Our open day extends a warm welcome to all. Past, present or future members of KLTC are invited to pop along to the club and enjoy a step back in time from the club’s 100-year history.
“We’ll relive memories from the past as well as fun events for the tennis fans of today. There will be a wooden racquet tournament as well as activities for all the family to enjoy and of course there will be lots of birthday cake. Come along and celebrate with Kirkhill. Everyone’s welcome.”
