Donors wanted

Blood donors are wanted in Rutherglen, Cambuslang and Croftfoot.

The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service will return to Rutherglen Town Hall on July 6, from 2-3.45pm and from 5.15-7.30pm.

The following day, they will visit the Croftfoot Parish Church hall, at 318 Croftpark Avenue, from 4-7.30pm.

Then on Tuesday, August 11, they will make a return to the Cambuslang Institute, Greenlees Road, from 2pm to 3.45pm and 5.15pm to 7.30pm.

Donors can give blood every 12 weeks, about every three months or four times in a 12- month period.

Most people are able to give blood. As long as you are fit and healthy, weigh over seven stones 12lbs (50kg) and are aged between 17 and 66 (up to 70 years if you have given blood before) you should be able to give blood.
