End of season honours

-

The boys and girls of a local football team were honoured for their contribution over the past season at their player of the year event.

Cambuslang Thistle, who run two teams, held the event at the Glencairn Venue last month.

And it proved a great success as the side brought the curtain down on a successful campaign.

The 1999’s boy’s team play in the Paisley Johnstone and District Youth Football League.

They enjoyed an up and down season, but with a more settled team towards the end they managed to reach their first final in the Paisley Johnstone and District Youth Cup.

Unfortunately, they lost out to a goal scored in the final minutes of the game.

The 2004’s are a mix of boys and girls.

They compete in the East Renfrewshire Soccer development Association and have gone from strength to strength, bonding well as a team and improving every week.
