Rutherglen pub to host cider festival
A Rutherglen pub is offering cider lovers the chance to sample a selection of drinks from across the UK.
An Ruadh Ghlean is hosting a 17-day cider festival from this Friday, July 10 until Sunday, July 26.
The festival will feature a enjoy a range of draught ciders apple, pear and fruit) from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. during a 17- day festival at a Rutherglen pub.
Some have never previously been available in the pub and others have been produced exclusively for the festival.
They include awardwinning ciders, together with those with unusual flavours; wild raspberries, whisky, marmalade, bourbon, rum, elderflower and blackberry.
Among those on offer are; Marmalade Cider ( Orchard Pig), Painted Lady ( Barbourne Perry Co), Doctor’s Orders (Green Valley Cyder), Black Rat (Moles Brewery), Legbender Cider ( Rich’s Cider), Somerset Fruit Forager (The Shepton Mallet Cider Mill) and The Collaborators (Sandford Orchards and La Ferme de Billy).
One of the ciders, The Collaborators, has been made by a French cider maker in collaboration with an English cider maker.
Each of the ciders will be priced at £2.15 a pint.
Pub manager Kat Scouller said: “An Ruadh Ghlean will be offering a superb selection of ciders, which I am confident will appeal to cider lovers and those enjoying cider for the first time.”
Customers can enjoy three one-third pints of ciders for the price of a pint.
Tasting notes on all of the ciders will be available at the pub.
