Rutherglen Reformer

Networking returns

- Jonathan Geddes

Businesses throughout Rutherglen and Cambuslang are being encouraged to take part in a local business meeting coming up in August.

The Local Business Network Event will take place on Friday August 28 at The Burnside Hotel at 9am until 11am and will be free to attend.

The events, sponsored by Clyde Gateway, usually attract plenty of local companies, but organisers are hoping that even more will sign up to take part.

A spokesperson said: “Our last event in January 2015 saw a total of around 60 attendees including MP Tom Greatrex, MSP James Kelly, Barry Ferguson and Bobby Gracey from Clyde Football Club, The Daily Record, PTS Clean, Rangers Football Club, Celtic Football Club, the Rutherglen Reformer, and Clyde 1 to name a few.

“We also have a number of local charities who attend, including Kilbryde Hospice, Cash for Kids and CHAS.

“Everyone we have spoken to since announcing the date for the next event has been saying they have been looking forward to it, as a lot of the businesses say they got quite a bit of business from the last event.

“Again I would like to say a massive thanks to Clyde Gateway for sponsoring the event, also our thanks to the Burnside Hotel, the Rutherglen Reformer for the coverage they have been giving us since we started and also a special mention to one of the newest businesses to join - iStack photography, who are offering their services at no cost to promote the network.
