Hall right now for school
There was summer fun in the air at Hallside Primary recently.
Friends of Hallside were hosting their annual family fun day, and it was a great hit with kids and adults alike.
The sun shone on the day, which included token prize stalls, displays, local business stalls, face-painting, a visit from the fire brigade and a chance for youngsters to get their hair coloured in.
There was also a visit from local cop Richard Samson, while some members of staff were brave enough to risk being soaked by sponges.
And there were demonstrations of karate and zumba too.
The special guests were the Glasgow Science Centre On Tour Team plus DJ Willie Hill who privided the music while 30 people went home with raffle prizes.
The total amount raised was £2381.51.
One of the chief organisers was parent, and Friends of Hallside member, Gillian Glassford, who said: “It was a fantastic event!
“Seeing the kids having a great day means all our organising paid off.”
Head Teacher Gillian Russell added: “The money raised is fantastic and will really help us with our project to develop our library.”
“However, the real success was seeing our wider school community coming together to have family fun.”
