Look hot in the city

-

It’s 5pm. It’s Friday. It’s log off time … but now it’s make-up time as you’re heading out for a night on the town straight from work.

And the chances are that after a hard day slogging away, the beautifully applied face that you took the time to put on at 8am is going to look less than its fresh best.

Not only that, you want to transform yourself from cute workday girl to night time glamour puss.

But time is not on your side as you are all itching to head to the pub and get the party started so how to you go from humdrum to glam in 10 minutes?

The good news is that your bag of tricks doesn’t have to weigh as much as a suitcase for a fortnight in Ibiza.

In fact, you can strip it down to the bare essentials that could easily slip into your favourite clutch – also handy for those disco touch-ups throughout the night.

And all without scrimping on the glam quotient.

If your evening out has been preplanned, use some Beauty Flash Balm from Clarins under your foundation in the morning.

This amazing formulation ensures that your make up stays put all day.. no matter what kind of pressure you find yourself under.

It also refines the pores and gives a more flawless finish.

And here’s a top tip!! Don’t give it time to soak in, apply your foundation immediately on top for best results.

So after hours of clock watching, the big hand is finally at five and it’s time to start the weekend.

But don’t, as much as you may be tempted, reapply your base.

Instead, use a bit of concealer on a small fine brush to fine point conceal any areas of redness, or where you feel your base might have worn off little.

If your peepers are feeling a little weary after a hard day, brighten the under eye area with a highlighting pen such as Touché Éclat by Yves Saint Laurent.

Then it’s time to set your base with powder. Mac Minerlize skin finish will give a little coverage but maximise that freshly applied look.

Next, a dusting of bronzer will bring your complexion to life, so apply to the forehead and hollows of your cheeks to create a soft contour.

They say the eyes are the mirror to the soul so make yours sparkle with a gorgeous glitter liquid liner.

Try Urban Decay Heavy Metal liners. My favourite is Midnight Cowboy, a gorgeous gold which can look as subtle or as glam as you like along the top lash line.

To really open up your eyes re-apply your mascara, or apply some strip lashes if you have the time.

This is guaranteed to make your eyes really pop.

No evening look is complete without lip gloss and highlighter.

In the dim light of a bar or restaurant, your see texture rather than colour so the glossier the better will make those lips look extra luscious.

Sweep a little highlighter to the high part of your cheek bones to catch the light and you’re done.

From glum to glam in 10 minutes, now hail that cab and start the weekend with a bang! If you’d like to
