On Tuesday last week it was the Ladies West of Scotland District Final at Croftfoot. Kingswood was represente­d in the 2 Bowl Pairs, Pairs and Fours.

In the 2 Bowls Pairs Joan Whitehill and Rachel Magee were up against stiff opposition from Mount Florida and with the game all square going into the last end the Kingswood team ditched the jack and won the game.

In the Pairs, Emma Lockhart and Alison Robertson played Pollokshaw­s and remained in the lead for most of the game eventually running out comfortabl­e winners.

In the Fours Kingswood was again matched with Pollokshaw­s and, although this game was close throughout, the team of Margaret McElveen, Edith McWatt, Helen McGregor and Chris Holland were seven up going into the last end and won by six shots.

The inter district games are at different venues in about two weeks time.

On Wednesday last week the ladies competed in the GWBA with all discipline­s represente­d.

The singles, triples and Fours won and the Pairs and 2 bowl pairs lost.

On Wednesday evening the Gents played in the first round of the GBA Millennium Triples against Foxley at Belvidere and won on shots.

Finally, last Saturday the Ladies played their reschedule­d Balloted Fours competitio­n for the Nicky Butler Trophy with a strong team winning the round robin format. the Gents Tennents Triples. This takes place on Saturday, August 1.
