Cheers as the Bruce Hotel gets set to host its first beer festival

The Bruce Hotel in the heart of East Kilbride is gearing up for its first Beer Festival this weekend and organisers are hoping you arrive thirsty.

The hotel’s Skye Lounge will be transforme­d into a mini brewery for real ale fans this Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20.

And with nine breweries taking their finest ales Beer Festival has something for everyone and to suit every taste.

The brewers will be on hand to offer samples, tell ale fans about the techniques they use to brew their beer and will have bottles and barrels for you to take home and enjoy.

But of course The Beer Festival is all about some of the finest beers in the country being on tap for fans during the weekend.

And the chefs at The Bruce are busy preparing a range of delicious snacks and savouries to accompany the unique flavours of each beer.

There will be more snacks as the Caledonia Pie company will be there throughout the Beer Festival to make sure no one goes hungry as the team at The Bruce make sure there is something for everyone to tuck into as they sip their pints.

This is the first time the hotel has hosted a beer festival and they are hoping that the community comes along to sip some of the finest beers in the country.

From quirky named brews to award winners, all of which have been chosen especially for the festival and the brewers come as far away as Shetland and there promises to be a beer to suit everyone as Lerwick Brewery, Wooha Brewing, Broughton Ales, Kelburn Brewery, Estrella Damm, Krafty Brew, Tryst Brewery, Top Out Brewery and Sulwath Brewery take over the Skye Lounge.

So for two days of fine beer, tasty snacks and music head to The Bruce Hotel in East Kilbride this weekend for £5 per person.
