A number of joint services will be taking place throughout Holy Week in Cambuslang.

On Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday services will be held in individual churches but then the following are joint ecumenical services to which all are also welcome.

These are: Monday (March 21) Stations of the Cross at St Brides RC church, 7pm.

Tuesday Service at Flemington Hallside Church of Scotland, 7.30pm.

Wednesday service at Flemington Hallside Church of Scotland, 7.30pm.

Maundy Thursday service with communion at Cambuslang Baptist church, 7.30pm.

Good Friday service at St Cuthberts Episcopali­an church from noon till 1pm.

Good Friday service at Cambuslang Baptist church 7.30pm.

The charismati­c prayer group at St Columbkill­e’s are meeting every week.

Join them in the hall, room one, on Wednesdays from 7pm until 8.30pm and everyone is welcome.

The craft group meets in the hall every Tuesday from 11am to 1pm.

The Divine Mercy Prayer Group meets in the White Fathers, 9 Milrig Road, Rutherglen, every Thursday from 6.30-7.30 pm.

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s weekly friendship cafe offers a warm welcome.

The cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am-noon in West and Wardlawhil­l Parish Church in Western Avenue and everyone is welcome along.

Glasgow the Caring City have recently been overwhelme­d with donations and desperatel­y need people to help out Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 2pm.

Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe is open every Wednesday.

The organisers invite the local community to go along and enjoy a drink and a tasty snack in warm, comfortabl­e surroundin­gs each week.

Flemington Hallside Church continues to welcome the public to its community cafe each week from 12-2pm on Thursdays.

The next scheduled prayer breakfast at Croftfoot United Free Church will take place in the church’s small hall on Saturday, April 9.

They will meet there at 8.30am for breakfast and a chat, then have a time of reflection and prayer.

A warm welcome will be offered to everyone.

Stonelaw Parish Church invite the local community into the building with the Café @ the Meeting Place being open from Monday to Saturday from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

A selection of teas and coffees are available along with home baking and there is a secondhand book stall.

The church has also started to hold‘Disciplesh­ip Explored’on Thursdays.

The sessions are intended to help Christians work out what it means to follow Christ and they take place at 7.30pm in the Meeting Place.

And Stonelaw will also hold their fish supper service on Sunday April 3 at 5.30pm.

They will have fish suppers etc. in the hall, followed by a short act of worship.

This service is suitable for all ages but suppers must be booked beforehand.

Toryglen Parish Church now intend to hold car boot sales on the very last Saturday of every month. Tables are available for £10.
