Although some of the members will be turning their attention to outdoor bowls, a group of carpet bowlers stay on and keep the game going.

Last month a draw was made for the singles ties and some games have been played.

Ian Barr lost to John Dickson, Bill Todd was up against John McCabe and won before John Sinclair was beaten by Jim Riddell.

In other games Jim Riddell defeated John Dickson with the last bowl.

Jack Halliday won against Colin McKinnon but was then defeated by Bill Todd.

The winner of the aggregate has been announced as John McCabe who was so far ahead on points that nobody could catch him.

If anyone would like to try carpet bowls, an invitation is extended to turn up at any session and throw a few bowls free of charge.

The club AGM and buffet will be held on May 4 at 1pm. Ladies opening game took place at Halfway and District Bowling Club last Saturday and despite the inclement weather, a great day was had by all.
