Plenty on sale at car boot

-

People making way for new clothes and household items before Christmas are being invited to earn a buck and raise cash for local schools.

Residents of Rutherglen and Cambuslang are being encouraged to sell their unwanted items at a car boot sale at Cathkin High School on Saturday.

Organised by the school’s parent teacher council, the community event will run from 10am to 1pm and include a mini fair.

It will raise money for Cathkin High School, Rutherglen High School and Cathkin Community Nursery.

Besides the outdoor car boot sale, there will be a café for refreshments and various stalls inside the school including a home baking stall, as well as fun activities for all the family.

Cheryl Burnett, of Cathkin Parent Teacher Council, said:“This fundraising event will enable the parent council to raise much-needed funds to support events, purchase sports and arts equipment and other additional extra items for the use of school pupils.

“For example, pupils will be raising funds for the newly -established Duke of Edinburgh Centre at the school.

“This centre is a unique collaborative venture set up by the parent council and the school.”

Those who would like to book a car in for the sale for a £10 fee, or anyone who would like more information on the event and fundraising taking place, should email CathkinHighPC@ gmail.com
