Obituary - Adrian Kane
Adrian Kane, who has died at the age of 45, was a talented artist and musician, a popular and well known character to all who knew him during his short life.
From an early age he was destined to become an engineer with his fascination with tools of any shape or size, taking every opportunity to offer assistance to any visiting repairmen and regularly taking a screwdriver to the back of the TV when his parents were distracted.
He was educated in Cambuslang before moving to Irvine. He finished his schooling at Kilwinning and eventually settled with his family at Troon.
He later moved to Yemen with his family but was left seriously ill when he was involved in a truck crash.
When flown back to Glasgow he spent a year in the Southern General spinal unit , throughout his time there his family never gave up hope he may walk again.
Adrian’s injuries were so severe he was confined to a wheelchair and struggled to come to terms with his disability, but through time he was resigned to his condition and focused his energies into his art and music.
He was an exceptional artist, able to sketch and paint with great attention to detail, occasionally taking on commissioned pieces, usually portraits of dogs .
He also loved to entertain his friends with his guitar.
Adrian’s injuries left him with many painful days, but he never complained.
He will be remembered for his generosity of spirit and love for his family and friends.
