King’s Park Parish Church have a range of activities on offer over the next week.

These include: Zumba class, caterpilla­r music, mother and toddlers group, mixed badminton, messy church, community cafe, God Tok, pathfinder­s, carpet bowls and youth club. Go to www. kingsparkc­hurch.co.uk or call 0141 636 8688 for details.

The Sunday school’s bring and buy sale took place on Sunday, February 5.

All money received will go towards helping children and young people. Stonelaw Church’s Cafe@The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am-2.30pm.

Tea and coffee are available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall. Stonelaw Church has also started holding 30-minute services in the Meeting Place on the first Wednesday of every month. Croftfoot United Free Church hold T In The Croft every Friday from 10am until noon.

They also hold Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month from 11.30am-1.30pm. Entry is £1.50. They will be holding a special event on Saturday, March 18. The community event will feature a bouncy castle, craft activities, and lots of other fun things. Castlemilk Parish Church hold community meals on the first and third Fridays of the month. Soup, pizza and pavlova are available from 6-8pm along with live music.

The church have also launched a monthly initiative called Treasure Hunters. They will take a street per month and spend some time getting to know who lives there, who works there and form connection­s between that street and the church. Flemington Hallside Church hold a community cafe each Thursday from noon until 2pm.

The women’s guild meet on Wednesdays at 7pm while ‘friendly hour’, a group for the elderly, takes place on Thursday afternoons at 2pm. The next monthly coffee morning in Rutherglen Old Parish Church will take place on Saturday, February 11, 10am-noon. Tea, coffee and Cakes will be available at the modest charge of £2 per person. The proceeds will go to help those left homeless in Aleppo, Syria to help, in some small way, alleviate their suffering. Everyone is invited to come along and enjoy some fellowship and chat and, at the same time, help others existing in dire circumstan­ces. Burnside Blairbeth Church’s Messy Church services will continue on Saturday, February 11.

It starts with an hour of crafts and games and is followed by a celebratio­n with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a two-course meal.

There will be a hot cup of tea or coffee and roll with bacon or sausage.

All proceeds will go towards keeping the church hall functionin­g. Cambuslang Parish Church’s community cafe is open every Wednesday from 10am until noon. Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church will hold a ceilidh supper dance on February 25.
