Care home set to get make over in take over
Greenlees renovation
A business which has transformed two care homes in Rutherglen and Cambuslang has plans to renovate Greenlees Care Home.
The home, which had been operating in administration, was taken over by Keane Premier Healthcare as the firm’s third property earlier this year.
The acquisition, made possible through a £2.7million loan with Barclays, has safeguarded 40 jobs and the care of 22 residents.
Cash provided by the bank will also support the refurbishment of the home, which has been renamed Georgia Park , and the company’s commitment to the residential home has also seen residency grow by more than 50 per cent to 36.
Keane Premier Healthcare has a strong track record of rejuvenating existing facilities, embarking on its first project in 2009 – the transformation of an 18-bed care home in Dunvegan, Cambuslang, into a 24-room luxury facility by 2011.
Following its success, the group committed to a similar project with Duncraggan care home in Burnside, Rutherglen in 2012, expanding the 18bed set up to a capacity of 24.
Keane Premier Healthcare’s business improvement plans have boosted both homes from Care Inspectorate Grade 2/3 establishments to Grade 5, very good.
James Smith, managing director at Keane Premier Healthcare, thanked Barclays for the funding package which allowed the project to go ahead.
He said: “The decision to move our existing business to Barclays was carefully considered but the bank made it an easy process by providing a dedicated team that will assist us in the continued development of the company.
“Barclays is also a proven, reliable finance provider in the healthcare market.”
A family-run business founded in 2008, Keane Premier Health Care is operated by James and Lynn Smith, along with their two sons Ross and Ryan.
The family also launched Keane Premier Support Service in 2012, a community based business which cares for the elderly and people with learning disabilities which delivers approximately 1500 hours of care on a weekly basis.
