Drawing talent
There was an art attack for some Cambuslang kids recently.
The Rotary Club of Cambuslang’s art competition asked local youngsters to design pictures around the theme of the popular Summerfest event held every June.
Six primary schools took part in the contest, which was for P7 pupils.
Alison Thomson of the Rotary said:“The pupils were asked to design a picture around the theme of Summerfest.
“The club also gave a sum of money to each of the schools to cover the cost of any art materials they might have to purchase or use.
“All the pictures were of a high standard but the judges selected a winning picture from each school and also one overall winner.
“The club organised a prize-giving evening at the Kings Park hotel on Wednesday, May 10 to which each winner, parents and a teacher were invited to join Rotary members and their guests
“The winning entries will also be on display at the Cambuslang Rotary Stall at this year’s Summerfest on June 17 and the overall winners picture is being printed as a poster for this event.”
