Fashion week at Exchange

Model customers in the spotlight

- Edel Kenealy

Fashionistas are flocking to Rutherglen Exchange this week as the best looks for autumn 2017 are unveiled as part of the centre’s first ever Fashion Week.

Started on Monday and running until Saturday, Fashion Week sees store stylists help customers to get the best out of their wardrobe and freshen up their look on a budget.

The styling events, running from midday to 3pm every day, are also showing people how to accessorize for autumn and how to keep the family cosy this winter.

The week will culminate in a unique Fashion in the Window show on Saturday when shoppers will be turned into models for the day.

Hosted by Reformer columnist Danielle Jean, the event will see Ruglonians model looks - pulled together by Danielle - in the window of Peacocks.

The event will run from midday to 3pm and also see younger models wear outfits from Kids Talk.

Danielle said: “I am looking forward to a fun filled fashion weekend in the centre and seeing all of the local residents.

“I will be available to give advice, or just have a chat during the event.”

Jane Cowan, centre manager, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the first Fashion Week event here at Rutherglen Exchange and who better to show off the autumn/winter range in style than our customers, who will be turned into models for the day.

“Since the addition of Warren James and Shelter, the fashion offering at the centre has become even better and we’re always looking to enrich the shopping experience here at Rutherglen Exchange.”

Shoppers will also have a chance to win a share of £200 worth of shopping vouchers throughout the week.
