Love’s heart was racing to get back

-

Cambuslang striker Jordon Love may have been out the country on the day of the game but knew how much it meant to get back to play in a potential cup upset.

The forward raced to Somervell Park from a work job in Newcastle and arrived after the interval of the clash with Pollok.

And as his side were already missing key players, gaffer Paul McColl was pleased to have Love at his disposal with 20 minutes to go.

Love said:“I was working in Newcastle and got on after 70 minutes. So I’ve rushed straight from there because we’ve got a couple of boys still missing and on holiday.

“I think it’s the same for all the teams at this stage of the season but everybody has just dug in and got the result.

“Pollok are obviously one of the biggest clubs in the Juniors so any time to beat them is a great scalp. And we thought if we turn up we can beat anybody so it’s a great result for us considering they beat us 4-0 a few weeks ago.

“Our league campaign finished a couple of weeks ago and Pollok have been playing and are sharp on the ball all the time so it was little bit harder for us.

“But that’s what made it such a good result for us. I think it probably did catch them off guard a little bit.

“During the season we hit a wee bad patch but have come well at the end.

“And that result shows when it all clicks we can more than compete in the league above.”
