Whitefield
Its been an exciting week at the Whitefield with the representative championships reaching their conclusions.
Top of the bill is Mark O’Hagan who won his Bowls Scotland District 19 final against his opponent from Dalserf.
Mark now plays in the national finals at Northfield and he’s no stranger to this venue having played four times previously as an under 25.
In the RDBA finals played at Tollcross on Friday evening, Aiden Friel lost out to David Blair from Croftfoot.
In the pairs final James Hefferland and Andy Stewart lost by two shots against Kingswood. Aiden also played in the GGYBA singles finals at North British bowling club on Saturday.
However, he narrowly missed out on reaching the semi-finals which was a great achievement for such a young player.
In the ladies section, both the senior fours and the fours fell just short in the district finals in their attempts to reach Northfield. They lost to Bothwell and Dalserf respectively.
The club would like to congratulate all the ladies for reaching the final.
Back at the club, Andy Stewart and Tam Devenny beat Jim Hayes and Ian Peden in the invitation pairs final.
In the RDBA triples league ,the away team won by two shots against Halfway however, the home team lost by the same margin.
The gents aggregate was won by David Hefferland, Michael Morris and Jim Kearney who were 11 shots up. Unfortunately, the ladies aggregates succumbed to the weather and was abandoned.
Finally, this Saturday the club hosts the rearranged gents balloted pairs.
