Young ma­nis slashed byknife

A young man was slashed just yards from his front door in Ruther­glen on Fri­day even­ing.

The 20-year-old was cut on the face and body in a shock­ing knife at­tack that oc­curred on Pen­man Av­enue at 6.50pm.

Po­lice Scot­land are ap­peal­ing for any wit­nesses to con­tact them on 101, or al­ter­na­tively give in­for­ma­tion to Crimestop­pers anony­mously by call­ing on 0800 555 111.

Mean­while, a man was at­tacked with a ham­mer at a flat in Whit­law­burn at the week­end.

A group of peo­ple were in the prop­erty so­cial­is­ing but a row broke out in the early hours of Satur­day morn­ing.

It is claimed that a 51-yearold man was se­ri­ously as­saulted with the ham­mer and sus­tained in­juries to the face and body.

A 31-year-old man was re­ported to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal.

In the early hours of Sun­day morn­ing a 20-year-old man was ar­rested for al­legedly walk­ing along Stonelaw Road, Ruther­glen, car­ry­ing a knife.

He was also re­ported to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal.
