Help wanted for re­search

Pas­sion­ate vol­un­teers from the Ruther­glen area are be­ing in­vited to at­tend a free event where they can find out how they can help sup­port pi­o­neer­ing de­men­tia re­search.

Alzheimer’s Re­search UK is look­ing for peo­ple in Glas­gow and the sur­round­ing area with a range of skills to help raise vi­tal funds, rep­re­sent the char­ity at events and raise aware­ness of de­men­tia within their lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties.

A free in­tro­duc­tory event has been or­gan­ised, of­fer­ing in­for­ma­tion about vol­un­teer­ing for the UK’s lead­ing de­men­tia re­search char­ity.

The event is on Satur­day, Novem­ber 10, from 10.30am to 1pm, at the Novo­tel Glas­gow Cen­tre, 181 Pitt Street, Glas­gow, G2 4DT.

There will be a talk from Dr Jill Fowler, Alzheimer’s Re­search UK se­nior re­search fel­low at the Univer­sity of Ed­in­burgh, who will be giv­ing an over­view of the re­search go­ing on in her lab and the work of the char­ity.
