Get ready for Christmas cracker!
It is almost time for the big switch-on in Rutherglen and Cambuslang.
This weekend will see the Christmas countdown get well underway in the local area as the festive lights are switched on in both Rutherglen and Cambuslang.
Rutherglen will be first up on Saturday, with the fun starting at 2pm and continuing until 4.30pm.
Radio presenter Gina McKie will host the event which will be jam-packed with entertainment, games and giveaways in the run up to the highly-anticipated arrival of Santa. The event’s special guests will be tribute act Little Mix Magic, performing the biggest hits from the pop superstars.
Adding to the atmosphere will be a funfair, performances from local dance and theatre groups, Christmas sing-a-longs to some festive classics and then the appearance of Santa Claus himself.
A winter wonderland is being guaranteed as the switching on of the lights will trigger a fall of snowflakes from the skies.
The next day it will be Cambuslang’s turn to feel full of festive spirit
Hardworking Gina will once again host the event, which will also run from 2pm to 4.30pm. The show will include music from special guests Ernest, a top notch covers band who perform a plethora of pop and rock hits.
There will also be a funfair, performances from local dance and theatre groups, a festive sing-a-long and, of course a visit from Santa Claus, before once again, snow falls from the heavens.
Entry to both Christmas lights events is free.
