Festive cheer

Many wrapped up well and braved the cold at the weekend for the switching on of the Burnside Christmas tree lights.

Calderwood Primary School P1 pupils Jena Mcnab and Cameron Miller did the honours to turn on the colourful lights in an event organised by the community council’s Burnside in Bloom initiative.

The festive cheer was led by Russell Cleary and supported by members of Stonelaw High School choir.

Caroline Kinloch from Tony Foster presented a cheque for £500 for the tree, while Tesco kept everybody cosy by providing the mince pies.
