A trip down mem­ory lane

For­mer school-mates took a long walk down mem­ory lane last week with this 50-year-old pic­ture.

The photo is of the Burn­side Pri­mary 1B class of 1968-69, which be­longs to Colin Mackie.

The ex-Ruther­glen man, who now lives in Cardross, up­loaded the photo to the pop­u­lar lo­cal history Face­book page‘Auld Ruther­glen’.

Colin could only re­mem­ber the names of 30 of his 34 class­mates, along with their teacher Mrs Davis.

How­ever, Ken Rus­sell helped fill in the blanks by putting names to all the faces.

Alan Wil­liamson, who now lives in Har­ro­gate, North York­shire, wrote: “Wow – that makes me feel old in­deed!”

He­len Carmichael Hanna com­mented:“That pic­ture brought a lot of mem­o­ries. I of­ten won­der about peo­ple what they are up to th­ese days.”
