Good to get close to clients

A Rutherglen profession­al has a growing portfolio of clients.

Gwen Blair, who has been a qualified chartered accountant for 16 years, founded her company Lamont Blair in 2012.

Having previously worked for two medium-sized practices in Glasgow, scaling the career heights to become assistant director of tax, Gwen found that her senior management role was taking her away from the aspects of the job she loved most: day-to-day, hands-on client work.

That gave her the prompt she needed to take control of her own destiny and launch her own business, dealing in all areas of accountanc­y and tax compliance, coupled with some tax consultanc­y.

“When I started on my own I started with lots of contacts but no clients,”admitted Gwen, who is based in Rutherglen’s Berwick Drive.

“I am delighted at how I have managed to grow my business and am also grateful for all the wonderful clients I have met along the way.

“I find that Burnside and Rutherglen are good, close-knit communitie­s. I have many clients in a 2-3 mile radius who have come to
