Festive cheerat Stonelaw thisweek

- Jonathan Geddes

Locals are being offered the chance to get into the festive spirit this week, as Stonelaw High’s parent council have organised a Christmas event that the whole community is welcome to attend.

First up is a Christmas Market on Thursday starting at 3pm in the assembly hall and canteen.

There will be 40 stall holders attending and there will be a large selection of handmade crafts, home baking, candles, jewellery and glass gifts and many more.

There will also be the opportunity to hear the school band and choir during the event and have tea, coffee and a cake.

Stonelaw’s parent council is also running a Christmas raffle and will be selling tickets on that evening, with the prizes being £500 cash for first place and £300 cash for second place, with lots of other great prizes on offer.

The aim of both these events is to raise additional money to support all of the young people who attend Stonelaw, while the raffle will be drawn at the annual Christmas concert on December 19.
