Fernhill and Cathkin will hold a Christmas themed Messy Church this Saturday, from 3.45pm until 6pm.

Everyone is encouraged to come in their favourite Christmas jumper and there will be games, songs and a short bible story.

As well as festive food, there will be time to make a craft project and take it home.

At the end of the evening we have a special present for all the children who come to our Messy Church.

The Fitness Follies keep fit group at Fernhill and Cathkin Church meets every Wednesday at 10.30am.

On Thursday at 10am the Knit and Natter group meets in the session room.

Rutherglen Old Parish Church will host its next Monthly Coffee Morning this Saturday from 10am until noon.

Tea/Coffee and Cakes can be enjoyed in a cosy venue, at a modest cost of £2.50 per person. Everyone will be made most welcome.

A Carol Service featuring Bothwell Philharmon­ic and St Columbkill­e’s, Trinity High and Fernhill School Choirs, will take place on Tuesday, December 18 at 7pm in St Columbkill­e’s Church, followed by festive refreshmen­ts in the Hall.

Entry is free but please leave a donation on the night. There will also be a raffle and one of the prizes will be a family Christmas Hamper.

Donations for this hamper e.g. wines and spirits, fruit loaves, Christmas Cake and chocolates etc can be handed in to the stall before or after any Mass.

The Parish Calendar for 2019, featuring lovely photograph­s of the Church, First Communican­ts and Confirmadi, will shortly be on sale from the parish for £3.

Flemington Hallside Church’s women’s guild meets every Wednesday at 7pm.

A knitting group has started up in Stonelaw Parish Church’s Meeting Place from 2.30pm till 4pm and all are welcome, regardless of experience.

The church’s Cafe @ The Meeting Place is open Monday to Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

The church will also continue with their monthly 30 minute services, which take place on the first Wednesday of each month.

These are aimed at people who do not or cannot attend Sunday services.

Tea and coffee are available, along with home baking and a second-hand book stall.

The church’s Tuesday Chat group meet every fortnight at 7.30pm.

Croftfoot Parish Church hold their Refresh classes every Friday from 2pm until 4pm.

It is a chance to enjoy a cuppa and a chat, as well as hand massage, games of pool, spiritual reading and confidenti­al prayer, including healing.

Castlemilk Parish Church hold community meals on the third Friday of the month.

Rutherglen West and Wardlawhil­l Church’s friendship cafe runs every Tuesday from 10am until noon. The Tuesday Club meets in the Hamilton Road hall.

God Tock continues every Monday at 7pm at King’s Park Parish Church.

A prayer group meet there on Tuesday mornings, and on Wednesday evenings. Their dementia cafe meet on the last Friday of every month, 10.30am until noon.

Burnside Blairbeth Church hold Messy Church on the first Saturday of every month.

It starts with an hour of crafts and games, followed by a celebratio­n with a Bible story and singing, finishing with a two-course meal and will run from 4.30pm to 6.30pm.

Children’s club Jump has restarted in the Blairbeth building on a Wednesday evening for children in P1-P7. It is from 6-7.30pm.

St Bride’s Parish Church are continuing with their Eat Up initiative, offering hot meals and company every Wednesday. It runs from noon until 2pm. Croftfoot United Free Church hosts T in The Croft every Friday from 10am-noon. It also hosts Lunch at the Croft on the first Friday of the month, 11.30am -1.30pm. Entry £1.50.

St Oswald’s Episcopal Church in King’s Park has Kaleidosco­pe for children with autism and their families from 6.30pm until 8pm on Monday.

On Tuesday there is community yoga, with entry costing £3 and lasting from 7pm until 8pm.

Wednesday sees prayer space at 10am.

On Thursday there is soup and space to be still from 6.30pm until 8pm.
