Cambuslang boxers travelled down south for a fight card, only to find out on the night that they had no opponents lined up.
There were ups and downs at the Commonwealth Games for locals, with Rutherglen man Gareth Murray in Scotland’s basketball team’s surprise sprint to the semi-finals, while netball ace Bethan Goodwin suffered heartbreak after missing a late shot in a one point loss to Malawi.
Vicky Glover was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Games.
Glencairn boss Willie Harvey hailed Gary Smith after he netted a hat-trick to give the Glens a derby day triumph over Cambuslang Rangers.
