Polling station changes

-

Several changes to polling stations in Rutherglen and Cambuslang are to take effect in future elections.

In the Cambuslang West area, some voters will now be required to go to West Coats Primary instead of Whitlawburn Community Resource Centre.

This also means voters in the SL 107 area are to be merged with the SL 103 area.

The decision follows a consultation where 366 voters in Polling District SL107 were asked for their preference.

There were 89 responses received with 71 in favour of the above change and 18 in favour of the status quo.

Voters in Burncleuch Avenue, Greenlees Park, Greenlees Road, Holmhill Avenue, Kirkburn Avenue, Mansefield Avenue and Whitefield Avenue will be affected by the decision.

Residents who used to vote at Cambuslang Parish Church will now be going to James Aiton Primary.

This decision was made due to the school having improved parking and facilities compared to the church.

The Cambuslang East ward will see voters who had used Park View Primary at the last election now using Hallside Primary again.

The school had been used in the past, but was unable to be used recently due to work taking place at the school.

Rutherglen South will see polling districts SL090 and SL091 merged into one district, which will use Calderwood Primary as their polling station.

And Rutherglen Central and North will see polling districts SL 101 and SL 174 merged, with Rutherglen United Reformed Church as their polling station.
