COPS HUNT FOR SOCIAL CLUB THUG
Man (21) left seriously injured with a brain bleed following vicious assault
Police are hunting for the vicious thug who left a 21-yearold in critical care following an incident in Rutherglen.
Jack Mcintyre was violently assaulted outside the Glencairn Social Club on Glasgow Road at 5.45pm on Saturday. He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he was treated for a bleed on the brain. Mr Mcintyre’s concerned relatives used social media to urge anyone who may have witnessed the assault to contact police.
Jack’s grandmother, Adele Mcintyre, wrote on Facebook: “I need help. Young Jack was in the Glencairn Club tonight and got attacked.
“He is in the Queen Elizabeth critical unit. The doctor says he’s been kicked to the face, fell and banged his head on the kerb and had a seizure. It has caused a bleed to the brain.
“Thanks for all your comments and prayers, means a lot.”
Jack is making a speedy recovery and was due to leave hospital on Monday afternoon as the Reformer went to press. He told us he has little memory of what happened or what provoked the attack, but added: “I just want to thank all my friends and family for the kind messages that were sent to me and my family.
“It means a lot to me all because of this horrible incident.”
Inspector Robert Bryce of Rutherglen Police said: “We are carrying out enquiries at Glencairn Social Club, which is supporting us with our investigation.
“Those who were there and witnessed the incident, we would encourage them to get in touch via 101 or Crimestoppers where information can be given anonymously.”
