Waiting times continued to improve at University Hospital Hairmyres, which was the top-performing A&E unit in Lanarkshire again.
Latest statistics reveal 94.4 per cent of patients were admitted, transferred or discharged within four hours at the East Kilbride facility – compared to 91.6 per cent the previous week.
And Hairmyres also topped the average for NHS Lanarkshire and NHS Scotland which were 90 per cent and 87.4 per cent, respectively.
The Scottish Government’s four-hour target is 95 per cent.
And the A&E at Hairmyres outperformed University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie, where 91.9 per cent of patients were seen within four hours and University Hospital Wishaw – the figure there was 84 per cent.
The latest figures go on to reveal that five patients waited over eight hours but no one waited more than 12 hours at Hairmyres A&E. This compares to four and no one respectively at Monklands and 12 and one at Wishaw.
