SKIPPER’S RALLYING CALL

Rutherglen Reformer - - The Back Page -

Cambuslang Rugby captain Alec Bean has called for his team to stay strong over the full 80 minutes – and reap the benefits. The Coat’s Park side will return from festive break this Saturday when they face-off against high-flying Allan Glen’s at home. And Alec thinks Cambuslang, currently eighth in the table, need to avoid losing their focus. He said: “We need to play well for the full 80 minutes. “We have played well in patches this season, but we haven’t been able to keep doing that. Too often we’ve played well for part of a game, then struggled for a period and lost the match there.

“If we can do that for the 80 minutes then we’ll be able to go up the table.”

However Alec is happy with Cambus’ season overall.

He added:“If you look at this time last year then we were right down at the foot of the table.

“This season we are much more in mid table and the performances have been a lot better, so we are improving.”
