PassPlus grant on offer

Rutherglen Reformer - - News -

Newly qualified drivers are being urged to top up their motoring skills with the help of a grant scheme.

Launched by South Lanarkshire Council, the scheme offers a £100 grant towards the cost of completing the Pass Plus course.

Normally priced at £140, Pass Plus involves six sessions which give people experience of driving in town, on rural roads, in all weathers, on dual carriageways and motorways and also driving in the dark.

It reduces the risk of road traffic accidents, helps to increase driving competency and participants may also be entitled to cheaper car insurance.

Rutherglen and Cambuslang residents who have passed their driving test in the past 12 months are invited to apply for the grant.

Application forms, which can be downloaded from the South Lanarkshire Council website, should be submitted to the traffic and transportation section.
