A wide-rang­ing work­shop on the im­pacts of wel­fare re­form was re­cently hosted by the South La­nark­shire Com­mu­nity Plan­ning Part­ner­ship. Part­ners from a wide range of or­gan­i­sa­tions met to share ex­pe­ri­ences which could help in­form fu­ture pol­icy de­vel­op­ment. and con­sider the im­pact that wel­fare re­form has on in­di­vid­u­als. Those at­tend­ing in­cluded South La­nark­shire Coun­cil, Po­lice, Fire, NHS, Health and So­cial Care Part­ner­ship, SPT, DWP, VASLAN (vol­un­tary sec­tor), Skills De­vel­op­ment Scot­land, local hous­ing as­so­ci­a­tions, food banks, Money Mat­ters, Cit­i­zens Ad­vice Bureau and South La­nark­shire Leisure and Cul­ture. Chair of the Com­mu­nity Plan­ning Part­ner­ship and De­pute Leader of South La­nark­shire Coun­cil, Coun­cil­lor Maureen Chalmers, said: “The learn­ing from the day will be shared with our part­ners and key ac­tions will be agreed.”
