Rutherglen Reformer

Kids go green to help

-

A team of green-fingered ‘Rotakids’from Burgh Primary School pulled on their gardening gloves to assist at last weekend’s Rotary Club of Rutherglen annual charity plant fayre.

Also on hand at the fundraising event in Rutherglen United Reformed Church on Saturday was Abi Goldberg, the daughter of past president Eddie Goldberg who had donated stock for the toys stall.

Locals turned out in force to snap up colourful hanging baskets and beautiful pots and bedding plants, as well as enjoying teas, coffees and home baking.

The successful event raised £2000 for the Rotary Club of Rutherglen’s charity fund. Thanks go to kind sponsors Reynards Nursery, Fosters Funeral Directors, and all those who assisted on the day.

Particular thanks go to the United Reformed Church and their stalwart worker Campbell Dick, who looked after the hosting of the event.

See next week’s Reformer for plenty more plant fayre pictures.
